Installation of Classroom Walls and Columns in an Educational Facility Project
Share
Project Background
A new secondary school in Singapore is under construction, requiring the installation of classroom walls and column caps using fiber cement panels. The project required an adhesive that was not only strong but also capable of providing consistent adhesion to areas of varying shapes and sizes, including around the column structure.
Application of JOE Joint Bonding Adhesive
• Application: Installation of fiber cement panels for classroom walls, corridor walls, and column caps.
• Method: JOE Joint Bonding Adhesive was applied as the primary adhesive to join the fiber cement panels. For the column cap areas, the adhesive was used to form a strong bond and fill small gaps, ensuring a flat and solid surface before finishing.
• Volume: Approximately 950 m² of walls and column caps.
Relevant JOE Bond Technical Specifications
• Weight: 40 kg/bag9
• Consumption (estimated): 2.2 kg/m²
• Bonding Strength: Excellent on fiber cement panels, preventing delamination or shifting.
• Workability: The easy-to-apply formula allows for neat joints, even in complex areas such as column caps.
• Water Resistance: Provides additional protection against moisture.
Cost Estimates
• JOE Joint Bonding Adhesive Price: SGD 50/bag (estimated price in Singapore)
• Material Requirement: 950 m² * 2.2 kg/m² = 2,090 kg
• Number of Bags: 2,090 kg / 40 kg/bag = 52.25 bags, rounded up to 53 bags.
• Total Material Cost: 53 bags * SGD 50/bag = SGD 2,650
