Partition Wall Installation in a New Office Building
Share
Project Background
A new office building in Jakarta required the quick and efficient installation of internal partition walls. The project team sought an adhesive solution that would ensure joint strength, minimize cracking, and accelerate the construction schedule.
Application of JOE Joint Bonding Adhesive
• Application: Installation of GRC (Glassfiber Reinforced Cement) panels for interior partition walls.
• Method: JOE Joint Bonding Adhesive was used to bond the joints between GRC panels. The adhesive was mixed with water according to the instructions and then applied using a 4.5 mm notched trowel to the sides of the panels before joining them.
• Volume: Approximately 500 m² of partition wall.
Relevant JOE Bond Technical Specifications
• Weight: 40 kg/sack
• Consumption (estimated): 2.2 kg/m²
• Opening Time: 30 minutes (allows for panel position adjustment)
• Initial Cure Time: 5 hours (speeds up subsequent processes)
• Compressive Strength: Very good
• Water Resistance: Very good
Cost Estimate
• JOE Joint Bonding Adhesive Price: Rp 150,000/sack (estimated price)
• Material Requirement: 500 m² * 2.2 kg/m² = 1100 kg
• Number of Sacks: 1100 kg / 40 kg/sack = 27.5 sacks, rounded up to 28 sacks.
• Total Material Cost: 28 bags * Rp 150,000/bag = Rp 4,200,000
Benefits Achieved
• Time Efficiency: A 30-minute opening time allows workers to precisely position panels, while a fast initial setting time (5 hours) speeds up site completion.
• Joint Quality: No significant hairline cracks were detected after application, reducing repair and painting work.
• Strength & Durability: The partition wall exhibits excellent structural strength, resisting light impact and moisture.
• Long-Term Cost Savings: Reduces future maintenance and repair costs due to the strength and durability of the joints.
